Patient Services
Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry
Because she believes that teeth should function well in addition to
being cosmetically pleasing, Dr. Risos combines cosmetic and restorative
dentistry in her treatment of patients. She won’t push patients
into any dental work; she believes that all patients should have options,
and should choose what’s best for them. After all, they’re
the ones who’ll be using and living with
their teeth for years to come.
Dr. Risos’ cosmetic and restorative dental services include: |
|
- Veneers
These can be a quick and easy solution for fixing chipped, stained,
discolored or even slightly crooked teeth because with veneers you
don’t need to cut much of the tooth structure.
- Crowns
If you need a crown, Dr. Risos usually recommends all porcelain crowns,
or sometimes crowns made of gold inside of porcelain. These won’t
corrode and or become discolored over time.
- Implants and Implant Restorations
Dental implants can stabilize a replacement tooth or teeth and help
prevent bone loss.
- Zoom! for Whitening Teeth
Dr. Risos counsels patients carefully so they’ll get whiter teeth—without
the tooth sensitivity problems.
- Bridge
A fixed bridge is another way (besides implants) of replacing missing
teeth. Since a fixed bridge is permanently attached in your mouth,
you don’t need to remove and wash it.
- Dentures
Dr. Risos can fit you with fixed or removable dentures that don’t
show metal in your mouth when you smile. (Metal can help strengthen
and reinforce your dentures, but it doesn’t have to show!)
- Dental Appliances for Many Needs
Dr. Risos can fit you with a best bite discluder – a device that
can “take the bite out of headaches.” She provides other
dental appliances such as spacers to save room for teeth that are coming
in.
|
- Smile Design
Dr. Risos will analyze your current smile and then design the new smile
that’s right for your face and features.
- Emphasis on Equilibration and Articulation – Bite
Adjustment
Your smile can look great but your bite might not be right. You wouldn’t
walk with a high heel on one foot and a running shoe on the other – it
would throw you off balance and hurt your body. The same thing can
be true for the teeth on either side of your face. An open space in
your gums that wasn’t filled, a restoration that was broken and
never fixed, and several other problems can cause an uneven bite. When
Dr. Risos adjusts your bite, she’ll be getting your teeth back
to their optimum functioning.
- Endodontics
Today’s root canals are much less painful than they’ve
been in the past—and they’re an important tool in helping
to save a tooth that has been damaged by decay or accident.
- Sedation for Long Appointments
Dr. Risos understands that long appointments can be difficult for patients,
so she offers oral conscious sedation as an option. As a member of
the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, she is trained and
knowledgeable about the use of oral sedatives.
Dr. Risos provides nourishment for patients such as yogurt, orange
juice and raisins to keep patients’ blood sugar at good levels
during long appointments.
